Thunder Breathing S

Trainer Zentaro · 5 forms · Unlocks at level 25 · Slayer path only

Thunder is the top pick for PvP in Slayers 2. Thunderclap and Flash closes distance instantly, and most of the kit is built around chaining a gap-closer into a stun. Most of its damage scales with Thunder-specific bonuses, so pair it with the Agatsuma clan for maximum output — on any other style that bonus is wasted.

Where this tier comes from: S on 3 of 5 published tier lists (TechWiser, Destructoid, GAMES.GG); Pro Game Guides and UrGameTips rank it A. The lists sit within one tier of each other.

The training tasks

Zentaro sets six tasks: the shared five, plus a field task and a final fight with the Thunder Trainee. The tasks unlock one at a time and the quest marker leads to each training area.

  1. Meditation — Butterfly Mansion, second-room mat. Click each time the moving bar crosses the white marker until the meter fills.
  2. Cup Training — Butterfly Mansion, third-room mat. Pick the cup hiding the coin 10 times — a wrong pick costs one of three lives and the shuffle speeds up each round.
  3. Push Ups — Butterfly Mansion, push-up mat. Click each white circle as the inner ring touches its edge. Standing up with a red aura means the set failed.
  4. Aim Training — Butterfly Mansion, shooting range. Click the targets as they pop up on the boards.
  5. Field task — Varies by style (Boulder Split, parkour dungeon, underwater rocks…). Each style has one field task before the final fight — follow the quest marker.
  6. Trainee fight — Your trainer's training ground. Beat the style's Trainee NPC to unlock the style, then spend skill points on its forms in the Skill Tree.

Task spots follow the shared Butterfly Mansion mini-games reported across the breathing guides; each style's field task differs. Winning the trainee fight unlocks the style — then open the Skill Tree and spend your points on the forms.

Thunder Breathing FAQ

What are the Thunder Breathing requirements in Slayers 2?

Where is the Thunder Breathing trainer in Slayers 2?

Zentaro, at Hidden Mist Village — the highest peak, up the mountain climb past the bear area and its boss. Full directions and pairing routes are on the trainer locations guide.

What are the Thunder Breathing training tasks?

Six tasks, one at a time: the shared Butterfly Mansion mini-games (Meditation, Cup Training, Push Ups, Aim Training), one field task, then a fight with the style's Trainee. Winning that fight unlocks the style — then spend skill points on its forms in the Skill Tree.

How many forms does Thunder have?

Five: Thunderclap and Flash, Lightning Fold, Rice Spirit, God Speed, Flaming Thunder God. They bind to Z, X, C, V and B, each on its own cooldown.

Is Thunder Breathing good in Slayers 2?

S on 3 of 5 published tier lists (TechWiser, Destructoid, GAMES.GG); Pro Game Guides and UrGameTips rank it A. The lists sit within one tier of each other. Best for: pvp duelists and players who want a fast, mobile playstyle.

What is the best clan for Thunder Breathing?

Agatsuma is the style-matched pick — thunder Breathing mains — most of its damage bonus is tied to Thunder, so it is much weaker on any other style. If you did not roll it, do not pick Thunder for the pairing alone; Thunder is strong anyway. Kamado and Uzui are the usual backups.

Can demons learn Thunder Breathing?

No — demons cannot learn breathing. Their equivalent is a random blood demon art roll after conversion. Switching paths later resets your breathing progress, so this is a one-way street worth deciding early.

How Thunder Breathing compares to the other styles

Within the tier list, Thunder Breathing's identity is its fastest gap closer in the game. The honest way to compare styles is by what they demand of you: Thunder demands hit-and-run discipline, Flame punishes whiffed openers, Water rewards patience, Serpent and Insect reward spacing, Stone rewards commitment, Wind rewards aggression, and Sound rewards positioning in group fights. None of that shows up in a tier letter — but all of it decides whether a style works for you. The fee matters too: at 7,000 Wen, Thunder Breathing is one of the pricier unlocks, so factor the fee into your reroll math.

Skill tree order for Thunder Breathing

The style unlocks as a kit, but skill points decide how fast it becomes dangerous. The community-tested order: Form 1 first — your opener (Thunderclap and Flash) is the move you land most often, so its damage scales your whole game. Form 2 next (Lightning Fold) for combo continuation, then Wall Climb and Double Jump if you have not bought them yet (trainer access and Final Selection both need them). Forms 3-5 (Rice Spirit, God Speed, Flaming Thunder God) follow as Wen allows — the last two forms are the biggest single jumps but also the most expensive, so take them when farming pays comfortably rather than at the edge of your balance. Every form sits on its own cooldown, which means each new form adds uptime, not just damage: by form three you should rarely be auto-attacking while waiting.

Where Thunder Breathing shines — and where it struggles

Best content for Thunder Breathing

  • PvP duels and ranked — fastest gap closer in the game defines the matchup.
  • Boss farming — its opener punishes the moments bosses stand still.
  • Quest waves — high burst on the first form keeps the pack clear moving.
  • Dungeon runs — consistent forms pair well with damage-boosting cards.

Matchups to respect

  • −Low sustain if the opener misses
  • −Short reach on later forms
  • −Punishable when forms are on cooldown
  • −Facing mirror matches — the style knows your tricks

The practical read: Thunder Breathing rewards pvp play, and its weaknesses are all punish windows — low sustain if the opener misses. Every style in the game can beat every other in the right hands; tier lists describe the cost of getting there, not a verdict.

Requirements and form names are community-reported (BloxInformer, Robloxden, All Things How and Pro Game Guides routes, cross-checked October 2026) and may change with updates.
