Slayers 2: How to Get a Breathing Style

Three gates stand between you and breathing in Slayers 2: level 25 on the slayer path, a Wen fee plus materials, and the trainer's six training tasks. Reaching the NPC alone does not unlock anything — here is every step and the fastest way through each.

Step 1: Reach level 25 on the slayer path

Quests are the fastest EXP: the bandit chain at Windy Peak carries you to about 7, Kona's side quests bridge to 13, and bear farming (Bear Area, from Tom's quests) is the community standard from there to 25. Demons cannot learn breathing, so this step is slayer-only. While you level, pick up every drop — horns and cores you farm at 15-20 count toward the fee you will pay at 25.

Step 2: Farm the materials before the trip

Farm before you travel — the trainers are spread across the map and walking back for a missing horn is the classic beginner time sink. The two farming spots:

Step 3: Every style's full bill

Costs are the single most-searched breathing fact, so here is the complete table — community-reported and cross-checked across guides in October 2026:

Some trainers also require movement skills to reach: Thunder (Zentaro) and Sound (Tengai) both need Wall Climb; the Water approach is an underwater passage.

Step 4: Clear the six training tasks

After paying, the trainer assigns six tasks that unlock one at a time — the quest marker leads to each training area. Five are shared mini-games; the sixth is a field task or trainee fight unique to your style.

  1. Meditation — Butterfly Mansion, second-room mat. Click each time the moving bar crosses the white marker until the meter fills.
  2. Cup Training — Butterfly Mansion, third-room mat. Pick the cup hiding the coin 10 times — a wrong pick costs one of three lives and the shuffle speeds up each round.
  3. Push Ups — Butterfly Mansion, push-up mat. Click each white circle as the inner ring touches its edge. Standing up with a red aura means the set failed.
  4. Aim Training — Butterfly Mansion, shooting range. Click the targets as they pop up on the boards.
  5. Field task — Varies by style (Boulder Split, parkour dungeon, underwater rocks…). Each style has one field task before the final fight — follow the quest marker.
  6. Trainee fight — Your trainer's training ground. Beat the style's Trainee NPC to unlock the style, then spend skill points on its forms in the Skill Tree.

Winning the trainee fight unlocks the style. Open the Skill Tree immediately afterward and spend your points on the forms — the style is only as strong as the forms you can actually use, and each sits on its own cooldown.

Step 5: Pick the right style the first time

Switching styles later costs another full fee plus a reset, so decide once, decide right. The BREATHRESET code resets breathing without a path switch, but the Wen does not come back. Quick picks: Thunder (S) for PvP duels, Sound (S, contested) for farming packs, Water (A) for the friendliest all-round first style, Wind (B→S trend) if you believe the post-V0.2 buffs. Full reasoning per style on the breathing tier list; exact directions in the trainer locations guide.

Already a demon?

Demons don't learn breathing — your equivalent is rolling a blood demon art after conversion. See how to become a demon and the demon arts tier list.

Costs are community-reported (guides cross-checked October 2026) and can change with balance updates — verify the fee in the trainer's dialogue before you commit.
